YouTube channel JerryRigEverything is known for absolutely destroying
smartphones in some very amusing durability tests. Shortly after the
introduction of the BlackBerry KEYone, the phone found it’s way into a
JerryRigEverything video. The results were very disheartening with the
screen popping out of the phone during his bend test. Luckily, that
wasn’t the end of the story.
When the first phone from the still new partnership between BlackBerry and TCL found it’s way on to the YouTuber’s “Shelf of Shame”, BlackBerry Mobile went to work. Not content, to leave the phone on the shelf, BlackBerry Mobile reengineered the phone, securing the screen and replacing the phones of affected users.
With the fix in place, a new KEYone was tested on the YouTube channel, was deemed durable, and was removed from the “Shelf of Shame”. For these reasons, JerryRigEverything awarded the BlackBerry KEYone the Most Improved Smartphone of 2017.
